Course Overview
In this workshop designed specifically for site directors of site-based summer camps, participants will explore the essential tools required for a successful summer camp season. Over three sessions in a series of intensive workshops, participants will review all of the requirements necessary to operate an effective site-based summer camp. Among the topics, participants will explore components of a strong summer program, budgeting to meet staff and student needs, strategies for daily workflow and program organization, effective rostering, and best practices for communication with various stakeholders—including parents, school administrators and staff. Participants also will share best practices for engaging incoming summer staff in the intensity of a well-organized educational, recreational, and social-emotional learning environment.
